This survey is designed to assess work orientation. The questions are assessed with a Likert scale from 1-7 where subjects rate the degree to which they agree with the statement.
I. Job orientation assessment questions:
1. I look forward to going to work.
2. My job is mainly just a way for me to pay bills.
3. I have no motivation to move up in the job I have now.

II. Career orientation assessment questions:
1. I see opportunities for career growth in the job I have now.
2. I work really hard at my job in order to move up the corporate ladder.
3. I would prefer to be in a higher position at my job than I am now.

III. Calling orientation assessment questions:
1. I feel like I make a difference with what I do at work.
2. I feel like my job is important to me and to other people.
3. I feel a sense of purpose with my career.

We believe that calling orientation would be most associated with affect happiness because people with calling orientation feel as though they are fulfilling a purpose in their lives, it makes them feel important about themselves and prideful about what they are doing, giving them more self esteem, joy and gratitude.

These questions will be based on a 5pt likert-scale from strongly agree to strongly disagree

Questions
"Calling Orientation"
1. I feel I am making a difference
2. I feel I was born to do this
3. I think my job is meaningful
4. I think my job is important
5. I feel like I am part of something bigger than myself

"Career Orientation"
1. I feel I am learning things in my job that will benefit my career growth
2. I feel my current position is a stepping to stone to something greater
3. I am interested in growing my career
4. I desire to make it to the top
5. I desire to gain status through my career

"Job orientation"
1. Scheduling is important for my job
2. Pay rate is important to me
3. Benefits associated with my job are important to me.
4. Proximity to where I live is important to me.
5. I prefer socially-relaxed work environment.

Our group's opinion is that the most happiness/life satisfaction will be gained from the "Calling Orientation". Their calling is often related to what they are passionate about in life, which will relate to more happiness in work. There is less tangible attachment to the job such as money and scheduling, but more closely related to doing something you WANT to do and something you CARE about doing.

This survey determines an individual’s occupational orientation type by asking individuals to indicate whether they believe the following statements to be true or false. An individual’s orientation type depends on the number of “true” or “false” statements for the given sections.

Section 1. Job Orientation:
1. The primary reason I am working at my current occupation is to gain basic job skills.
2. The primary reason I am working at my current job to fulfill financial obligations.
3. I would leave my occupation if another company offered me a higher paying position in a different field of work.

Section 2. Career Orientation:
1. The primary reason I am working at my current occupation is to establish social networks that will allow me to advance my current occupational position.
2. I have a desire to move up in the occupation I am currently working in.
3. I am willing to exert a lot of mental/emotional energy, as long as it makes me feel empowered.

Section 3. Calling Orientation:
1. My occupation allows me to be self-autonomous and maximize my full potential.
2. My current occupation gives me a sense of intrinsic fulfillment.
3. I work at my current occupation because it allows me to contribute to the greater good of society.

Out of the three types of orientations, our group decided that the calling orientation would grant a person the highest level of life satisfaction, because it allows an individual to feel a sense of intrinsic fulfillment and personal growth while contributing to the outside world, which can have lasting effects. The calling orientation is more focused on what an individual's passion is, rather than how much money they will make - and an individual will most likely have increased feelings of satisfaction if they enjoy the work they're doing. The calling occupation is also more likely to make an individual feel like the work he/she is doing is valuable, and that they, too are a valuable counterpart of his/her current occupation, and both seem like they're an integral ingredient to high levels of life satisfaction as a whole.

This questionnaire is designed to determine one's career orientation. Individuals will indicate whether the following statements are true or false. One's career orientation will be determined by the number of "true" or "false" answers to the given questions.

Job Orientation:
1. My career choice makes most sense financially, even though it isn't my true calling. T/F
2. I go to work because they pay me, not because I love it. T/F
3. I chose this career for my job security. T/F

Career Orientation:
4. Is this job a prerequisite for a later career? T/F
5. I am working this job for potential promotions. T/F
6. I chose this career for social recognition. T/F

Calling Orientation:
7. I do this job because it makes me feel like I'm contributing. T/F
8. If there was no need for money, I would continue this career. T/F
9. I need to do this job for personal fulfillment. T/F

Of the three career options, we have decided that a calling orientation would create the greatest amount of happiness/life satisfaction for an individual. A career that is seen as an individual's calling would provide him/her with a sense of purpose. Also, one will be more passionate about a career, which will lead to personal success within the company. An individual's satisfaction with his or her career is crucial in overall life satisfaction because of the amount of energy put into a career.
